In Luke 10 we find a story about two sisters that are trying to serve the Lord. They open their house to Him but one of the sisters stops helping with the setup and just sits at Jesus's feet and listens to what he has to say. Martha is so distracted in trying to continue with the setup that she doesnt think there is time to listen to Jesus. She came before Jesus and said Lord doesnt it bother you that I am setting all of this up and Mary is just chilling at your feet.
This is what Jesus said in reply
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Friends I have found myself being so busy the past week that until i read this passage I was not listening to the Lord. I was so occupied with trying to keep up with everything that I had not sat down and taken time to hear what He had to say. Are you listening?
