Turning the world upside down.

Yesterday and this morning had those, "I don't feel like getting out of bed or I want to take lots of naps and drink lots of coffee" feelings.  So as I was thinking about the blog this morning I thought, "I want those who decide to take the time to read what I write to actually read what I write" (instead of falling asleep).  So I will keep it short and to the point :)

So here's what's been slapping me in the face:

Acts 17:6
"When they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some believers before the city authorities, shouting, "These people who have been turning the world upside down have come here also..."

When people encounter/experience my "ripple effects of life" (you know, the impact/effects of my actions and words), does the world turn on its side and do people say "Hm, that's not right" or "They are living quite a different kind of life... it's messing me up (in the good kind of way)!"

So I loved and hated the book of Acts... it has been incredibly invasive to my heart in revealing to me what kind of Jesus follower I am driven to be... and how much I really love Jesus.  Don't skip it in the NT Challenge.  There's so much more I could say about... but I won't bore you for any more blogs.

Oh, and another thing that is fantastic about Acts... it opens the door for understanding the struggles of so many churches back in the first century.  This verse I quoted above was said by someone from Thessalonica (not a believer, though)... and which church got the first letter from Paul that we have in the NT?  The church in Thessalonica (1 & 2 Thessalonians).  Boom!  I love understanding!  The Bible is so rich with so much we still have yet to understand.  Keep at it.

  1. I keep thinking back to when Phil Covert and others went to Russia and talked about how hard it was to be a Christian in that country but they still did it anyway because it was what Jesus wanted them to do, I think about the opposition that all the early Christians went through just in order to meet.

Isn;t it time we stoppped our bikering and just consentrated on loving each other?
